Attractive structure of the Indian Sarees

The Indian sarees are considered by the women in India as the ideal outfit for every occasion like a marriage or a festival. Saree is a single stretch of cloth running now to a length of 5 to five and a half meters. In earlier days, its length used to reach even 7 meters.

A saree, traditionally has three parts. They are Body of the saree, border, and pallu or the last end. Border and pallu will be usually of the same color, but the body part which is stretched from one end to the pallu part, covers the most part of the wearer.

It may be plain or may be having printed or embroidered designs on it. During the past times in India, the Indian sarees used to be just an ordinary and plain cloth, hardly with designs. However, recently, the Indian sarees have been modified into a cloth with delicate designs and embroidery.

For those women who want their Indian sarees to look lavish, they have it designed with semi-precious stones and embroidered with expensive kinds of threads.

There are also Indian sarees that are decorated with beads and simple embroidery. While there have been modifications in Indian sarees, there are still women in India who wear plain sarees.

In ancient years, sarees used to be made from threads made from the bark of the trees. People used to wear such cloths they were not stitched. Later, cotton became the main raw material in the production of sarees.

Nowadays, sarees are manufactured from the following materials Silk, Cotton, synthetic fibers, Art silk or artificially produced silk, Mixture of silk and cotton. The polyester sarees may or may be fully plain, have printed or embroidered designs and may be with or without border and pallu.

For comfort sake in working and fast movements, now a days, ladies are shifting to churidars, jeans etc. But everybody agrees that nothing equals the majesty of sarees.
